DUAL School Lead Teacher - Temporary
The Children’s Council is in search of a temporary, part- time lead teacher for our DUAL Preschool Program. The current lead teacher will be going on maternity leave and a substitute lead teacher is needed to fill this position from December 2022 through March 2023.
The Dual School Preschool program is a high-quality, early learning program that provides focused support for English language learners (ELL). In a classroom of ten students, five students are from homes where English is the primary spoken language, and five students are from homes where English is not the primary spoken language. Our ideal team member will have at least an Associate degree or bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field and experience teaching 3- to 5-year-old children. This is a temporary position. The position pays $15 per hour. Qualities we are looking for:

- Is empathetic and understanding when communicating and listening to family’s needs and concerns.
- Hold’s value in making the classroom a safe, calm, beautiful, nurturing, and engaging environment for children and families.
- See’s children as capable and independent human beings by encouraging all children’s unique ways of learning.
- Is passionate about teaching and the work that is happening in early childcare education.
- Is knowledgeable and comfortable implementing ELL strategies in the classroom.
- Has an adept understanding of individual differences and adapts to needs.
- Is a strong leader and has excellent communication skills.

Substitute Program
Are you interested in working in child care while making it fit your schedule? Come by the Children’s Council to pick up/fill out an application packet. Application process includes criminal background check and fingerprints which is approximately $40. Must have High School diploma/GED and be at least 18 years old.
