DUAL School Educational Lead Teacher
The Children’s Council of Watauga County is currently seeking a part-time DUAL School Lead Educational Teacher. The DUAL School educational lead teacher is responsible for anything related to the DUAL School classroom's everyday function. The DUAL School Lead Teacher is expected to implement developmentally appropriate practices and curriculum when working with children and families. The DUAL School Lead Teacher helps coordinate yearly enrollment, classroom volunteers/ internships, family events and fundraising events with the Administrative Lead Teacher. The DUAL School Lead Educational Teacher works in collaboration with the DUAL School Administrative Lead Teacher to coordinate yearly enrollment, classroom volunteers/ internships, family events and fundraising events. The DUAL Educational Lead Teacher collaborates with fellow CCWCI staff to connect DUAL families with other CCWCI resources.
The overall objective/mission of the DUAL School Educational Lead Teacher is to create an inclusive, developmentally appropriate classroom environment for all families and children enrolled in the program.
Minimum Qualifications
Education/Experience:
Personal commitment to strength-based, family/ child-centered practice
B.A. degree in Child Development or Child Development: B - K preferred; or related degree
Demonstrates ability to plan, coordinate, organize a classroom.
Demonstrates ability to interact with children in a developmentally appropriate manner as well as comfortably interact with / support families.
Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and collaboration skills.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but optional.

Bilingual Parents as Teachers Parent Educator
The Children’s Council of Watauga County is currently seeking a full-time Bilingual Parents as Teachers Parent Educator to conduct home visits using the Parents As Teachers (PAT) Curriculum with English and Spanish-speaking families. In this position you will conduct home visits with parents of young infants and children, provide case management and parenting support, help with planning support group meetings, provide transportation and coordinate outings, assist with database management and other home visit preparation, and attend agency outreach events.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and experience in social work or human service field
- Coursework in child development and behavior management or combination of education and experience is ideal.
- Preferred - home visiting and family service experience with high-risk populations

Substitute Program
Are you interested in working in child care while making it fit your schedule? Come by the Children’s Council to pick up/fill out an application packet. Application process includes criminal background check and fingerprints which is approximately $40. Must have High School diploma/GED and be at least 18 years old.
