Early Literacy
If children enter school without the skills needed to succeed, too often they remain behind their peers. Smart Start communities work at the local level to provide opportunities for early learning so that children enter school ready to learn. Early literacy is woven throughout our programs. From promoting reading aloud to your pregnant belly to delivering developmentally appropriate books to area providers, we are invested in early childhood. All of our early literacy programs focus on young children, ages BIRTH to 5 years old.
